Antje Mertig MRICS
With more than 20 years of experience in the banking and real estate sector, Antje Mertig has extensive experience in structured finance, distressed real estate and non-performing loans. As a qualified banker, graduate of BA, Bankakademie/School of Finance and through continuous training in real estate management, she has not only substantial practical experience, but also a sound knowledge of the real estate and finance sector. She has already worked for various banks in the field of financing and transferred to loan workout in 2004. At Hudson Advisors and then at Situs (formerly Hatfield Philips), she held management positions on extensive and highly complex credit portfolios consisting of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) and non-performing loans of up to EUR 6 billion. She is fluent in German and English. Due to her membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), she is distinguished as a professional member with proven expertise and competence. Additionally, she has been recognized for her adherence to the highest standards and ethical principles with international character.
Michael Schäff has more than 5 years of professional experience in real estate and finance. After graduating as an economic engineer (FH), he began his career as a trainee at CORPUS SIREO, one of the largest German real estate asset management service providers. Prior to joining Steinberg Real Estate + Finance, he held various positions at the international consulting firm Situs (formerly Hatfield Philips) where he was responsible for the loan workout of 20 complex securitised (CMBS), non-performing (NPL) and syndicated commercial real estate loans. In recent years, he has managed transactions for institutional investors, banks and financial investors on the buyer and seller side, as well as financing on the borrower and lender side in excess of EUR 1.3 billion. He combines his commercial and real estate management training and expertise with his proficiency in loan servicing for international investors and advises our clients in a structured and goal-oriented manner. He is fluent in German and English.
